Remember...

Do…
Keep your mobile phone out of sight when not in use
If you need to make a call, be aware of who is around you.
Position yourself where you can easily get help if you need it.
Look for a CCTV camera and stand where it can see you.
Avoid displaying your phone in public where possible. In public areas, use your phone's vibrate facility if it has one. You can then assess whether it is safe before answering a call.
Activate your mobile phone's security lock code, if it has one.
Many people use their mobile phones at rail, MTR and Tube stations – thieves know this so be extra cautious when using these modes of transport.
All mobile phone devices have a Secure@Phone Code ( IMEI number) which is a unique identifier; you can obtain this number by typing *#06#. Write this number down and keep it in a safe place.
Mark and register your mobile phone with your contact details within the Secure@Phone database service to help Secure@Phone and the police identify and retrieve stolen devices.
Report a registered lost or stolen phone to Secure@Phone immediately, who will automatically inform your service provider.
Save an emergency contact in your phone under the heading ICE – (In Case of Emergency) if you adopt the idea, it could assist patients, families and crews during an emergency situation. For more information on the ICE campaign click here

Don't...
Attract attention to your phone when you are carrying or using it in the street
Park in isolated or dark areas.
Leave your phone in an unattended car - if you must, lock it out of sight. It only takes seconds for a thief to smash a window and steal your phone.
  Don't leave your phone unattended.
Try not to walk and talk on a phone.
Fight back if a thief confronts you. It is not worth being injured over a mobile phone

Remember, most thieves are opportunists. By taking these simple precautions, you can protect your mobile phone and reduce the risk of attack.
